ศัพทมูลวิทยา ของ Psammodromus blanci

มีการอ้างว่าชื่อชนิด blanci และชื่อสามัญในภาษาอังกฤษว่า Blanc's sand racer ตั้งขึ้นเพื่ออุทิศแด่ อ็องรี บลังก์ (Henri Blanc) นักสัตววิทยา ชาวสวิส [3] แต่ทว่าในความเป็นจริง ชื่อนี้อุทิศแด่มารีอุส บลังก์ (Marius Blanc) ผู้ค้นพบชาวแอลจีเรีย[4]
